Indian Prairie School District 204, with support from Edward-Elmhurst Health, is launching Indian Prairie CARES (Community Advocacy, Resilience, Engagement and Supports). The program will offer the following services at no cost:

Who can receive counseling services?
A: During the pilot phase, counseling is limited to families at Longwood Elementary School, Georgetown Elementary School, Fischer Middle School and Granger Middle School. If a sibling is attending an adjacent school, they can also utilize this benefit.

Will there be a fee for counseling sessions?
A: No, this service is provided completely free of charge. Funds for the program have been made available through the generous financial support of the Edward-Elmhurst Community Investment Fund.

Will anyone be collecting my insurance information?
A: No, payment for treatment services are provided through the Edward-Elmhurst Community Investment Fund and will not require insurance information.

Who will be providing counseling?
A: Each school will have an independent counseling professional/organization assigned that will handle scheduling, treatment, and documentation. These professionals are not affiliated or employed by District 204.

Is the information I share confidential?
A: Treatment providers are independent and practice under their state licensure. They abide by patient confidentiality rules and will not share information with the school unless an emergent situation requires appropriate intervention.
